Welcome to the Interactive Design Assistant!
To begin, draw a closed-loop path on the input canvas. You can choose
between freehand and Bezier curve drawing modes using the dropdown menu.
For Freehand drawing, simply click and drag to create your desired
shape. For Bezier curves, click on the input canvas to set a
starting point, then click again and drag to define the shape. Once you
close the path, it will be submitted automatically. You can then adjust
the control points of the Bezier curve to modify the shape.
Use the dropdown menus below to select the number of samples to draw
from each NPE posterior model. A higher number of posterior samples may
lead to more accurate paths but will drastically increase the
computation time.
After submitting a target path, all three NPE models for the three
different mechanism types will be queried. The best-performing posterior
sample for each mechanism type can be selected using the dropdown menu
below: Joint C for the four-bar mechanism, Joint F for the
six-bar linkage without offset, and Joint G for the six-bar
linkage with offset. The best posterior sample for each mechanism type
will be subjected to local post-optimization, which becomes available
shortly afterward and can be toggled using the "Optimized" checkbox.
The "All Joints" checkbox allows you to visualize the paths of the other
joints of the six-bar mechanisms that are not optimized but are part of
the best-performing sample. The slider allows you to adjust the
animation speed of the actuated four-bar mechanism.
